Welcome to our website, and by extension, to our church!

"Church" after all does not mean a building, though we cherish ours, and smile when passers-by remark on its quaintness. I like to point out that very few of us who worship here could be called quaint!

Church means a community of people united by their belief and trust in that higher power we call God, who are journeying together to discover who God is and what God's purposes for our lives may be. So by reading this, you may qualify as one of us.

It is also a community of people who care deeply about each other. That aspect of church becomes most real when we gather together in the physical sense, but is not limited in that way. We are a small group on some Sundays, especially in summer, but our greater family includes people who have passed through our doors along life's way and now live in Illinois or California, in Pennsylvania or North Carolina. Our caring for one another moves around with people, but it never goes on vacation!

We are very serious about our business here: about scripture study and spiritual exploration, about prayer and music and service. But it is the love and support offered by this church family that has touched my own life most deeply over my years here. And you, who may be "unknown" or "nameless" to us as you scroll down this page--that love and support is held out to you too---whoever you are!
